ASTM D5957 Guide for Flood Testing Horizontal Waterproofing Installations
Billions of dollars are spent annually to address leaking roofs, with damage ranging from minor water stains and electrical outages to complete structural failure of the roof.
The National Roofing Contractors Association estimates that up to 40% of flat roofs develop serious problems within one year of installation.
With the recent increase in "Green Building" and LEED Projects, the ASTM D-5957 is increasingly being specified to confirm waterproofing on areas of "live roofing". The prospect of finding a leak beneath a section of "live roof" is ominous and daunting.
A well designed system, applied correctly and tested effectively is the key to a successful project.
We're here to assist you on your next project where the ASTM D-5957 is called for in the Project Specifications.
