Recon Independent Assessments

From Design to Completion

We're There Every Step
of
The Way

Designs often appear to integrate different materials seamlessly on paper, but the devil is in the details.

Details where materials of different construction join in the building envelope are critical to delivering a watertight and sustainable design.

Recon Independent Assessments has the experience to provide consulting services on your project.

Our goal is to compliment the construction team by providing observations that stimulate results which lead to a successful completion of the building envelope.

Bring our experience to your next project.

Sealant Joint Profiles - Critical Condition Where the Weather Meets the Wall

The importance of sealants is understood
to be a critical part of the building envelope, however the attention to detail in
maintaining the correct sealant joint profile is one of the most often causes of water intrusion in
investigations performed by Recon Independent Assessments.

Sealant separating from adjacent construction materials is often the cause of many
leaks.

When the depth profile of the joint is too thin, there is simply too little adhesion to perform as designed.

When the critical connection fails due to lack of adhesion, the building envelope fails.

The resulting water intrusion becomes problematic for the building occupants.

Recon Independent Assessments provides Building Envelope Consulting for new construction to help avoid water intrusion events from occurring.

Recon's experience in identifying existing conditions that are causing leaks is extensive.
If your building has experienced leaks and you need  assistance in locating the cause and origin, we're a phone call away.

Re-Testing Windows and Curtainwall via an ASTM E 1105

The Department of the Navy required testing, Recon Independent Assessments provided it.

Remedial work has been completed, sealant cure time allowed for, and now it's time to check the work to ensure it has enabled the two systems to pass an ASTM E-1105 water penetration resistance field test.

Building owners and occupants deserve the best quality possible.  Recon helps ensure that quality is delivered.

If your project requires field quality control within Div 8, call us:

Mock-up Testing

Recon Independent Assessments will be testing a mock-up in Central Florida for the School District that is constructing a new facility.

Kudos to the School System for recognizing the importance of setting the expectation of excellence on the Project.

By testing the installation scope in a mock-up wall, the entire project will get a head start on quality. Additional testing will be performed throughout the project to ensure that the critical interface between the installed fenestration and the building envelope is watertight.

Recon Independent Assessments is proud to be part of the team that was chosen to deliver another quality school for the District.
