Are You Ready For ASTM or AAMA Field Testing?

The Window Installation is ready for Validation testing using the ASTM E-1105 for Water Penetration Resistance.
Before calling for the Third Party Testing Agency, take the time to walk the project with the Glazing Company's Staff to see what they considered to be "ready for testing"...

Masonry Absorption Testing an Added Value

Recon Independent Assessments recently traveled to Southwest Georgia to provide ASTM Field Testing for Air Infiltration and water Penetration on newly installed fenestration at Bainbridge College.

As part of Recon's Enhanced Moisture Intrusion Prevention Program, we included Masonry Absorption Testing on the brick and mortar exterior.

If your project includes Concrete and Masonry, contact Recon for a proposal for Absorption Rate Testing.

Waterproofing Solutions for Concrete and Masonry are important steps in providing a sustainable building for the owner and occupants.

Typically an "included" value with Window Testing, the Absorption testing is available a la carte.

Knowing The AAMA and ASTM Testing Standards and Procedures

It is quite often that the phone rings here at Recon Independent Assessments and the caller needs help understanding the Specification that requires Field Testing. The two standards that are typically encountered are the ASTM or AAMA standards for Testing Installed Windows, Storefronts and Curtainwalls. Whether or not the ASTM or AAMA standard is called for, the test procedures will be the ASTM E-1105 for Water Penetration or the ASTM E-783 for Air Infiltration.

These testing procedures are being called for on more and more projects. Does your staff have a good understanding of them? If the answer is no, do what The Williams Company and Ajax Building Corporation did recently.

Recon Independent Assessments provided an interactive and informative training session for both Contractors to cover the Testing Standards and Procedures.

At Recon, we feel that the more invested everyone is in the verification of quality product installations, the better the end result will be. Our goal is to help improve the quality of a building and the sustainability of it for the owner and occupants.

Contact Recon Independent Assessments to schedule a training session on the AAMA and ASTM Standards & Testing Procedures.
