Post Hurricane Water Intrusion Investigations Provide Valuable Information

In September 2011, Recon Independent Assessments provided investigative testing for two clients in Virginia and North Carolina that experienced water intrusion as the area felt the effects of Hurricane Irene.

The results from the testing were used to formulate an action plan to correct the problems identified.

All parties involved in each project are invested in providing solutions to the issues.

As the tropical storm force winds and rains moved along the Atlantic coast earlier this summer, water intrusion issues were discovered in many buildings as wind driven rain exploited building envelope components that did not hold up to the pressure.

Fall Semester 2011 - Field Testing Report

An early Fall quiz at University of North Florida has begun.

Punched openings with HC 75 storefront windows are being tested for water penetration resistance.

Later in the semester, curtain wall will be tested.

The ASTM E 1105 is the standard and test method.
