98,000 SF biomedical research facility focusing on immunology and research of infectious disease. Nine biochemistry labs and a 13,000 SF vivarium with ABSL-3 and BSL-3 suites. Project is design build delivery pursuing LEED Silver certification and is currently in construction phase with an expected completion date of January, 2012. Responsibilities include overall project and program management, design development, project cost control, value engineering/ buyback management, permit approval coordination, LEED facilitation oversight, bid and construction management oversight.Recon was pleased to have been selected to provide Building Envelope Quality Control inspections and testing on the VGTI Project.
Working for the Owner and together with the Contractor and Sub-Contractors to provide a well constructed and watertight building envelope was a months long journey with a rewarding conclusion.
